BOWLING GREEN PHOTOGRAPH
Radnor Park was donated to the people of Folkestone by the Earl of Radnor in 1886. Original features included ponds, avenues, a drinking fountain and the mock-Tudor lodge. The district council lists a bowls club among the facilities in the park. This file does not claim a foundation date for the club itself.

The Bear appeared in white trousers of an unsuitable theatrical cut and introduced himself as “reserve woodsman.” He was politely informed that no entertainment had been booked and that woods meant bowls.
He delivered a short monologue to the jack, rolled nothing, and hummed Widecombe Fair during another player’s delivery. His request for one more encore was interpreted as a request for another end and refused.
Asked to leave the green; permitted to watch from outside; asked to leave the outside after attempting to introduce the teams through a paper megaphone.
No fixed camera is recorded. A camcorder tape labelled Finals / Bear? contains forty-two minutes of lawn and a voice apologising to the committee.
